Intersect Aspen: A Vibrant Mix of Art and Design

This year’s bigger, bolder Fair shouldn’t be missed.

This year’s Intersect Aspen Art and Design Fair—returning to the Aspen Ice Garden from July 30 to August 3, 2024—boasts an exciting blend of modern and contemporary galleries, enriched with new design and art exhibits from top names in both disciplines.

The word “Design” has been added to this year’s event title, and it will be immediately evident to all attendees just why that is. The gallery floor and exhibits will showcase some of the brightest minds working in the contemporary design space, including Todd Merrill Studio, Mastrangelo and BDDW

Add to that, the Fair’s already-storied art foundation. Some highlights include…

Artist Meghann Riepenhoff, a first time presenter at this year’s Fair, will exhibit a selection of her camera-less photography, with work captured in the Aspen and surrounding Roaring Fork Valley area.  Riepenhoff uses natural elements, such as the sun and primarily water, to execute her camera-less cyanotype process, and it’s something to behold.

Work from artist Zaria Forman, celebrated for her works documenting climate change in pastel, will also be on display. Forman magnifies the physical complexities of polar ice, reflecting its beauty and fragility. Her pieces tell the history of the ice’s journey from its prehistoric formation to today.

Yigal Ozeri is best known for his large-scale cinematic and photorealistic oil paintings and portraits. This will also be the first time Ozeri’s stunning work—which is intended to exist somewhere between reality and fantasy—will be on exhibit at Intersect Aspen.

Beyond the stellar lineup of newcomers and returning artists, this year’s art programming will highlight four areas of interest, exploring the intersection of art with design, the environment, social consciousness and the Aspen community.

With nearly 30 galleries from over 20 cities, Intersect Aspen offers an exceptional experience for collectors and art lovers alike.

“We are thrilled with the lineup of galleries and artists,” says Tim von Gal, CEO, Intersect Art and Design. “As Aspen’s annual art fair, Intersect Aspen Art and Design delivers exceptional experiences. We strive to create a space for collectors and art enthusiasts to immerse themselves in viewing, acquiring, learning about and discussing the art and continue to be a must-attend event during Aspen’s world-renowned ArtWeek.”
