Tell us about your career path in hospitality that led you to your current role.
I was raised in the hospitality industry. Growing up, my family owned a hotel in Brazil, where I worked from a very early age and where I fell in love with this industry. My career now spans more than 25 years in the hospitality sector, which, in addition to my current role, includes hotel/resort acquisitions and development for Loews Hotels, the opening of a Miami development office and brand expansion in the Americas for Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, and real estate advisory services for Ernst and Young LLP in Miami. A lifelong learner, I recently completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School. I enjoy the academic world and was previously an adjunct professor in the Hospitality Management master’s program at Florida International University.

My wife, Mariana, is a former finance professional turned travel advisor and loves to explore the world as much as I do. Our daughters Carolina (“Caro”) and Alice were born in Miami and raised between Miami, Aspen, and Brazil. Passing on our heritage to them has always been a priority. Caro graduated in 2023 from Aspen High School and is currently attending Boston College. Alice just finished her sophomore year at Aspen High. We are passionate travelers and, together as a family, have visited more than 20 countries.

As CEO of Aspen Hospitality, I oversee the operation of our existing assets and of the management company, as well as lead our strategic and expansion efforts. Our current portfolio includes The Little Nell and its affiliated Residences at The Little Nell, Limelight Hotels, the ASPENX Mountain Club, and the Snowmass Mountain Club. As we continue to scale, we are currently expanding the Limelight Hotels brand from four hotels to six with the forthcoming openings of Limelight Mammoth and Limelight Boulder in 2025, and we are in the planning stages for a second Little Nell in New York City in 2026. The opportunity to expand into markets beyond skiing is an intentional pursuit, as we seek to grow the company in other leisure and urban destinations. I love the direction we’re going and the opportunities for our guests and staff that come with this growth.
